Tonight is the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Single men will be tuning in for the event. Married men might find a way to remind their wives that it's on just in case they want to watch it. Women everywhere will be wondering why they watch it when all it does is remind us a plastic surgeon and gym visit are in order. But we will still tune in for at least a portion because we all have a little masochist in us.
I want to challenge you (and me) to remember that if there were ever a minority in this world, it would be in the model demographic. That being said, watch for the music, watch for the sparkling lights and pretty costumes. And remind yourself that they are only one version of beautiful...it comes in all shapes and sizes.
When I was younger, I was extremely self conscious. I thought I was too thin, had zero curves, had bad skin, had jacked up teeth, didn't know how to wear make-up, etc. The list goes on and some of it got better, but the majority I just came to peace with. And though I still have extreme moments of insecurity, for the most part I can put it behind me. Because I know we don't take our bodies with us when we leave this life. And there can be a lot of comfort in remembering what we should focus our time and resources on.
I'd like to introduce you to the first article I found when I typed in "what men find sexy." I will not be losing make-up anytime soon (you're welcome), but everything below is the opposite of a VS model. Happy reading! And watching :)
